This is what the sky looked like around 11:30 am as Hurricane Irene heads our way. This afternoon and tonight there is sure to be some excitement, but hopefully it doesn't leave us without power for too long!

The mirror was a yard sale find last summer. It's at Ellie's height in our family room so she can check for crumbs and ice cream smeared on her face.

Day 17: Technology

Day 16: Long Exposure

I haven't taken many long exposure photos before, but I think I will try more after taking a few tonight. This is outside our front door in the evening. If I am in the right place at night, I have a few ideas for long exposure photos now.

Day 11: Something blue

Sunset at Jockey's Ridge Park in Nags Head, North Carolina. The largest sand dunes on the east coast. There were blue and white hand-gliders jumping off the dunes.

Day 10: Childhood memory

This one was tough since we are away. I could only think of things to take pictures of back home.
As a child I remember being dressed like my big sister! Here are my girls dressed alike.

Soda. Today's drink of choice, Cheerwine since we are in North Carolina. I also have a habit (not so bad) of turning the tab to the right, it helps me know which drink is mine.

Day 3: Clouds

It was overcast all morning and afternoon, by 7 pm the clouds broke up just a little so I could get something other than just gray skies. 

Day 2: What you wore today

Went to the park with the family today. I chased Ellie around in my flowery skirt, black tank and black sequin flip-flops. It was HOT out.

Day 1: Self-portrait

This was taken VERY last minute and with little effort. Hopefully this means my photos will get progressively better and more creative. I took this one around 9pm, camera on AUTO (which I hate using), and with the flash (which I also hate using). Didn't realize I had so many freckles.
